Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Presight, Abu Dhabi-based and UAE’s leading AI and big data analytics company, has been selected as the strategic partner to enhance digital transformation efforts in the West African country of Gambia. The partnership was solidified through a deal signed with Gambia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy (MOCDE) during Gitex Africa 2024 in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. However, details of this agreement, deemed of key national interest, remain undisclosed.

Notably, the financial specifics of the deal have not been made public. Interestingly, the exact details about the money involved in the deal have not been shared with everyone. This means we don’t know exactly how much money is part of the agreement or how it will be paid, or who will pay for what. These details have been kept private.

Nevertheless, it has been gathered that the Gambia government and Presight will undertake a two-phased collaboration to improve digital services and bolster cybersecurity measures across the country.

The initial phase will concentrate on developing digital government services and launching a national digital identity initiative, both crucial for enhancing public service delivery and ensuring secure, streamlined access to government resources.

Presight will also play a role in establishing and supporting the national data center, which will serve as the backbone for the country’s digital initiatives.

The subsequent phase of the collaboration will involve setting up a national safety operations center, designed to protect Gambia’s digital infrastructure against potential threats.

Presight, a big data analytics provider, was listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in March 2023. It uses AI and big data to generate insights, enabling sectors to solve challenges and drive human advancement.

In Africa, Presight had MOUs for Digital Transformation Programs signed with Senegal, Zambia, and Mauritania.

In a similar development, the Gambia Information and Technology Agency (GICTA) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Morocco’s Digital Development Agency (ADD) at GITEX Africa 2024, aiming to exchange expertise and best practices, including joint e-government programs and training initiatives.
