Africell Gambia has launched 5G; ultra broadband is currently available in Banjul, Fajara, Kairaba Avenue, Senegambia, and Brusubi.
Africell is the second Gambian operator to launch 5G after QCell in June 2023. Although the focus is on 5G, Africell wants to continue investing to improve the quality and coverage of its 3G and 4G networks.
5G is expected to enable Africell to increase revenues and support the Gambian government’s digital transformation ambitions.
Hussein Diab Ghanem, CEO of Africell Gambia, offered profound insights into the status of 5G within the nation in a revealing interview series.
Although 5G is the main priority, Africall reiterates its dedication to improving its current 4G and 3G networks. In order to guarantee that all Gambians have access to dependable data connectivity, Ghanem made it apparent that these technologies are far from being phased out and that significant investments are still being made to increase coverage and enhance service quality.
