Madiambal Diagne reports that Amadou Ba has made a gesture, indicating that he has conceded his loss and intends to phone Bassirou Diomaye Faye to congratulate him on winning the first round of the presidential election.
Founder of “Le Quotidien” journal, Madiambal Diagne is one of Senegal’s most well-known journalists, juggling his friendships in politics with his defense of being an ardent laudatory. He is also close to President Macky Sall as well as Amadou Bâ.
“Amadou Ba will call Bassirou Diomaye Faye to concede defeat and congratulate the winner on his victory in the first round of the election,” the journalist stated on X (formerly Twitter).
In a statement made last night, Amadou Ba decided to refrain from commenting on the early electoral results, stating that he would reserve his remarks for this Monday once he had the opportunity to study the numbers more thoroughly.
