The Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction Party (APRC), represented by Fabakary Tombong Jatta, has been summoned to appear before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court due to rent arrears amounting to sixteen thousand dalasis (D16,000), as reported by The Point Newspaper in its Friday edition.
The summons to the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court signals a legal dispute over rent payments between the APRC and their landlord, shortly after APRC announced to have found a new political bureau in Kanifing.
According to the details of the claim, the plaintiff, Badara Manneh, represented by Sainabou Sallah, entered into a rental agreement with the defendant, APRC, for a compound in Manjai Kunda, paying an annual rent of ten thousand dalasis (D10,000).
Despite repeated requests from the plaintiff for the APRC to return the keys for over two months, the defendant has allegedly locked up the office and absconded with the keys.
The landlord is now seeking the recovery of the sum of D16,000, which includes two months’ worth of rent arrears and any additional months that may accrue during the trial, along with any further instructions the court deems appropriate.
The plaintiff has appealed to the court to intervene, citing their urgent need for the premises.
