The German judge in the Celle regional high court stated during his ruling in Bai Lowe’s trial that the Gambia Justice Ministry had not completely cooperated with his jurisdiction in order to ascertain the facts. Baba Hydara, the son of murdered journalist Deyda Hydara, was taken aback by this information. Baba Hydara claims that the judge’s admission on Thursday should serve as enough of a warning sign for the victims and their families in The Gambia to carefully thread with the government and demand openness from the Ministry of Justice. Baba Hydara also asked the Government of The Gambia to act swiftly to get Sanna Manjang and Bora Colley out of their hiding from Guinea-Bissau to face trial.
In this exclusive audio with Gambiaj, Baba Hydara speaks out after Bai Lowe’s life sentence for the 2004 killings of journalist Deyda Hydara and former soldier Dawda Nyassi
