Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – His Excellency Masudur Rahman, the Bangladeshi High Commissioner to The Gambia, has today shared Bangladesh’s successes in integrated financial management systems, taxation, and e-government, illustrating the transformative impact of these technologies with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Hon. Ousman Bah.
High Commissioner Rahman proposed the establishment of Bangladeshi electronic factories in The Gambia, leveraging our country’s peaceful environment and strategic access to the ECOWAS and African markets.
Hon. Ousman Bah expressed gratitude for the visit and acknowledged the invaluable support from Bangladesh, particularly through initiatives like A2i, which have facilitated the replication of the My-Gov e-government platform in The Gambia, fostering south-south cooperation.
He warmly welcomed the proposal to explore the establishment of Bangladeshi electronic manufacturing plants in The Gambia through a memorandum of understanding, highlighting the potential for mutual economic benefits and technological advancement.
This meeting signifies a significant step towards deeper cooperation in ICT and digital innovation between our countries. Here’s to a promising future of collaboration and progress.
In a similar engagement, Hon. Bah met a team of investors from INFRA Group Saudi Arabia. The delegation was led by the CEO of GIEPA to explore possible partnerships through PPP and similar funding arrangements in the digital economy sector.
