Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian traveled to Banjul, the capital of Gambia, to participate in the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday. During his visit, he met with his Gambian counterpart, Mamadou Tangara, and held talks with him, expressing gratitude for Gambia’s successful hosting of the summit.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed hope that the summit’s outcome would benefit the Islamic Ummah. He also met with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop on the sidelines of the summit. Additionally, he held discussions with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, and Sudan, as well as the Secretary General of the OIC.
Regarding his trip and participation in the summit, the Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted the region’s increasing efforts to stop the war and genocide in Gaza, indicating a growing seriousness in addressing the humanitarian crisis.
The 15th OIC summit, which ended on Sunday in Banjul, focused on key issues affecting the Islamic world, including regional conflicts, humanitarian crises, and economic development.
