Gambiaj.com – (DAKAR, Senegal) – The senior judge of the Dakar court has ordered the provisional release of well-known TFM commentator Badara Gadiaga under electronic surveillance, according to information reported by Senegalese media. The decision comes despite the public prosecutor’s firm opposition to granting bail.

The ruling follows a request submitted by Gadiaga’s lawyers, Souleymane Soumaré, Alioune Badara Fall, and Abou Allassane Diallo, who argued for his release as he awaits further judicial proceedings.

After receiving the bail application, the judge consulted the public prosecutor’s office, which advised against it.

Nevertheless, on November 10, 2025, the senior judge issued an opposing order authorizing Gadiaga’s release with the condition that he wear an electronic bracelet.

Gadiaga’s release, however, is not yet final. The prosecution has five days to appeal the decision. If an appeal is filed, the matter will be reviewed by the Indictment Chamber of the Dakar Court of Appeal, which will determine whether he remains free pending trial.

The commentator first appeared before the investigating judge on October 27, where he was questioned on allegations of spreading false information, insulting a state representative, and making statements deemed contrary to public morals.

The case later expanded to include more serious accusations of receiving subsidies for propaganda purposes harmful to public safety, allegedly through a covert connection with the digital services company GSIE Technology.

However, the financial investigations ordered by the court appear to have undermined this central accusation. Documentation obtained from banks and regulatory institutions reportedly found no trace of suspicious transfers or links between Gadiaga and GSIE Technology.

Records from his accounts at BICIS and ACEP showed that both were in deficit, which his defense argues contradicts claims of covert financing.

GSIE Technology itself publicly rejected the allegations in a statement published on July 12, 2025.

The company, owned by prominent digital sector figure Antoine Ngom, described the claims as “malicious and unfounded,” adding that it held no account in Gadiaga’s name and had no commercial or personal relationship with him. The company also suggested it may pursue legal action to protect its reputation.

The outcome of the financial probe significantly weakens one of the key elements of the case, strengthening the defense’s position as proceedings continue.

Gadiaga is represented by a team of prominent Dakar attorneys, including Djiby Diallo, Malick Fall, Alioune Badara Fall, and Abou Allassane Diallo.

If the prosecution does not appeal within the legal timeframe, Gadiaga will soon regain his freedom under electronic monitoring while awaiting the continuation of the judicial process.
