The prefect of Dakar has announced that for security reasons, “the circulation of motorcycles and mopeds is prohibited in the Department of Dakar on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 6 a.m. to midnight.”
In his press release, Chérif Mouhamadou Blondin Ndiaye informs that “the motorcycles and mopeds of defense and security forces personnel as well as those mobilized by the health authorities are not concerned.”
Also, for duly justified reasons, “an exemption may be granted to people whose professional activities justify it.”
The prefectural authority recalls that any contravention of the provisions of this decree will result in the sanctions and penalties provided for by the laws and regulations in force.
