Gambiaj.com – (DAKAR, Senegal) – Residents of Nord Foire in Dakar have raised alarm over what they describe as daily disturbances caused by the constant influx of visitors to the home of popular singer Waly Ballago Seck.

According to testimonies shared on the civic platform “Luttons contre l’indiscipline au Sénégal”, crowds of fans and onlookers regularly gather outside Seck’s residence, often spending the night in the neighborhood. Neighbors say the situation has led to noise pollution, unsanitary conditions, and chaotic parking that obstructs traffic in the area.

“We can no longer rest in our homes because of loud conversations late into the night. Visitors park indiscriminately, block roads, and some even relieve themselves in the streets. Our children are no longer safe to move freely, and our sick cannot get peace,” reads part of a letter from residents addressed to the singer.

Beyond the daily inconveniences, neighbors have also voiced growing concerns about security. Some claim that burglaries in the area have involved individuals frequenting Seck’s home, heightening fears of surveillance and intrusion.

The residents are calling on the artist to take responsibility by managing the crowds outside his home. In particular, they want him to stop what they describe as the “irresponsible practice” of distributing money to visitors, which they believe encourages people to loiter for days around their houses.

“Waly Ballago Seck must take responsibility for the disorder his visitors are causing. We are tired, and we no longer feel safe in our own homes,” the letter stated.

As of now, Seck has not publicly responded to the appeals from his Nord Foire neighbors.
