Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Mamour M. Mbenga, widely known as Kifa Barham, a prominent advocate against drug abuse and a Goodwill Ambassador for The Gambia’s Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG), has successfully secured 20 IT scholarships for young people across various communities. This effort is part of his ongoing commitment to empowering youth through education and rehabilitation.
The scholarships, provided through the Egalitarian Foundation, offered both Certificate and Diploma programs in Information Technology. The recipients recently completed their training at the Quest Institute of Technology, formerly known as Quantum, under the careful guidance and support of Mbenga and his team.
Mbenga, who also serves as the President of the Egalitarian Foundation, expressed his gratitude towards the Foundation for its unwavering support in youth development and the fight against drug abuse. He emphasized that the project, dubbed “Educate Your Neighbor,” will continue to collaborate with partners and philanthropists to foster positive change within the community.
In a statement, Mbenga expressed his delight and appreciation for the key partners who made this program possible, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in steering young people away from the dangers of drug abuse and crime. Through education and skill development, Mbenga aims to offer hope and opportunities to the youth, helping them build a brighter future.
