Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology has announced the appointment of Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA), effective July 1, 2024. Dr. Tarro will succeed the late Dr. Gibril Jaw, who passed away in November 2023.
Dr. Tarro, currently the Registrar at the University of The Gambia, brings a wealth of experience in educational administration and management. The Ministry is confident that he will continue Dr. Jaw’s legacy of efficiency and dedication.
Born and raised in Bakau, Dr. Tarro began his education at Bakau Community Centre Nursery School and attended Bakau Primary School and Armitage High School. He pursued higher education abroad, earning degrees in History and International Relations, Political Science, Higher Education Studies, and Public Sector Management. He completed a PhD in Public Administration in 2020.
Dr. Tarro has held numerous key positions at the University of The Gambia, including Administrative Assistant, Deputy Registrar, and University Registrar. His extensive background and commitment to education make him the ideal leader for NAQAA.
