The Drug Free Clubs Organization, which conducts outreach and school sensitization programs aimed at raising awareness about drug and substance abuse among school-age children, has raised concerns and called on stakeholders for a national dialogue on Drug and Substance Use Prevention.
Comprised of young people, the organization is urging stakeholders from various sectors to partner in combating drug abuse and related crimes. They stress the need for a national dialogue on drug demand reduction and its negative impact on society.
The organization is calling on partners such as the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Interior, National Youth Council, United Nations Office On Drugs and Crimes, and Government Line Ministries to design an effective strategy plan to address drug abuse among young people.
They emphasize the urgency of implementing these measures to protect the future generation, who will take on leadership roles in the future. They suggest that a comprehensive approach should be the top priority, with tangible solutions implemented on a national scale through policies and effective partnerships.
