Ecosenbo Foundation Holds Inaugural AGM, Fosters Alumni Engagement for Community Development

The first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ecosenbo Foundation, a group of former students at Ecole Prescolaire – Elementaire in The Gambia, was held on the campus of the school in Banjul, marking a noteworthy achievement. Alumni from The Gambia and around the world attended this historic event, demonstrating the widespread dedication to the school’s history and potential for future contributions to social advancement.

The Ecosenbo Foundation’s inaugural AGM adopted its constitution and strategic plan, with president Fatou Kine Ceesay Cole highlighting its significance in fostering societal change.

She promoted activism and volunteerism as means of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and underlined the significance of each member’s active participation. According to President Ceesay Cole, the foundation’s mission is to use the combined strength of its members to bring about real, noticeable changes in the community with the goal of leaving a lasting impression on coming generations.

Maget Aja Sowe, a foundation member, spoke during the conference and gave personal accounts of her siblings’ experiences attending the school while praising the school and its graduates for their continued commitment to public service.

The Point Newspaper’s co-publisher, Pap Saine, who spoke as a guest at the occasion, commended the organization for its work promoting sustainability and development. He exhorted the youth to embrace language acquisition as a tool for worldwide involvement by highlighting the value of bilingualism in both French and English for both personal and professional advancement. The appreciation and sense of community accomplishment were furthered at the AGM’s awards ceremony, where participants were honored for their services to the foundation as well as the school.

The Ecosenbo Foundation’s inaugural AGM in Banjul marked a renewed commitment to community advancement through education and collective action. The foundation adopted a strategic framework, fostering a culture of volunteerism and advocacy among its members. The event celebrated alumni bonds and set a strategic plan for community development and educational excellence, aiming to inspire future generations and create a brighter, more inclusive future.
