After offering Eid prayers to mark the end of Ramadan, President Adama Barrow expressed gratitude for witnessing the sacred month and fasting. He hailed this as a significant personal achievement. He extended congratulations to the entire Ummah and the Gambian people for upholding peace and stability, emphasizing their crucial role in the country’s development.
Additionally, President Barrow emphasized the next Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) gathering that The Gambia will be hosting. He underlined the significance of the occasion, pointing out that it is the biggest assembly in the Muslim Ummah.
As one of the smaller nations in the Ummah, the Gambian people consider it an honor to host an event of this nature. In order to guarantee the event’s success and leave a lasting legacy for the nation, he urged all Gambians to embrace and support it. He also encouraged active involvement.
The President concluded by expressing gratitude to the Gambian people for their unwavering commitment to preserving peace and security. He emphasized the value of cooperation and teamwork in accomplishing national objectives, especially in organizing and hosting the next OIC meeting.
