Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Ensa Badjie, also known as “Jesus,” a former Inspector General of the Gambia Police Force, has died on Thursday of a protracted illness.
Ensa Badjie had been suffering from a protracted sickness caused by the brutal torture imposed on him by National Intelligence Agency (NIA) officers and junglers during the former dictatorship of ex-President Yahya Jammeh. He was IGP from 2008 to 2010, then was reinstated by the Barrow administration, serving as Commissioner of Police Operations before being sent to the Upper River Region (URR).
The Truth, Reconciliation, and Reparations Commission (TRRC) made a recommendation that ended his public service career.
According to a public notice from The Gambia police, the late Badjie will be laid to rest today June 13, at 5PM at the London Corner.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family and love ones.
