Former Deputy Governor of the West Coast Region, Musa Suso, has issued a stark warning to President Adama Barrow and the National People’s Party (NPP), urging them to address internal party issues and national economic challenges, or risk significant setbacks in the 2026 elections.

Speaking at an event where he received an honorary father title from a women’s organization in Farato, Mr. Suso expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the NPP. He emphasized the need for immediate action to resolve the party’s numerous problems.

While Mr. Suso did not specify the exact nature of these issues, he highlighted the importance of facing reality and speaking the truth within the party. He warned that if current trends continue, the NPP could be in for disappointment in the next election cycle.

Despite his criticism, Mr. Suso clarified that his concerns were rooted in a desire to see the NPP succeed. He emphasized that his relationship with President Barrow remains positive, and he is committed to the party’s cause.

In light of the country’s economic challenges, Mr. Suso suggested that President Barrow engage with the business sector to address the high prices of essential commodities, describing the current situation as “unacceptable.”

The event in Farato was attended by prominent NPP members, including Lang Bala Saho, Omar Colley, Lamin Jobarteh, and Mafugi Saidy, who all praised Mr. Suso and his foundation for their contributions to the country and the party.
