Fourth Suspect Arrested in Kiang Keneba Armed Robbery Incident

The Gambia Police Force has announced the arrest of a fourth suspect in connection with the armed robbery incident that occurred in Keneba Village, Kiang West, on February 23, 2024. The arrest took place today, March 1, 2024, around 14:00 hrs, following a tussle with police that left two Police Intervention Unit (PIU) personnel with injuries.

The suspect was apprehended after an ambush was laid to effect his arrest. A thorough search of his residence in Kerr Ngor Nyan Village led to the recovery of some cash, new clothes, pairs of shoes, a cutlass, an axe, and mobile phones.

Earlier in the day, the police announced the arrest of three other individuals in connection with the same robbery incident. It was reported that the suspects broke into a Bureau de Change and the MRC camp in Keneba, fleeing with some cash and a Toyota vehicle (Bufalo) with registration number MRC 257.

All suspects are currently in police custody, cooperating and assisting with the investigation.

The Gambia Police Force continues to urge anyone with information regarding criminal activities to come forward and assist in maintaining peace and security in the country.
