Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, met today with the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, in Riyadh.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Muslim World League, followed the recently concluded Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit on November 11, where leaders gathered to address pressing issues facing the Islamic world.

Discussions between Dr. Tangara and Dr. Al-Issa highlighted the strong and growing relationship between The Gambia and the Muslim World League, as well as their shared vision for future collaboration. A key focus of the talks was on promoting the League’s mission to serve not only the Islamic Ummah but humanity at large.

Both leaders affirmed their commitment to advancing this mission and recognized the potential for positive global impact through strengthened cooperation.

Dr. Al-Issa expressed high regard for The Gambia’s proactive role in Islamic leadership, especially under President Adama Barrow, who also chairs the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He noted that The Gambia’s recent hosting of the Islamic Ulema Conference and the 15th OIC Islamic Summit in Banjul underscores the nation’s dedication to Islamic solidarity.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Issa praised The Gambia’s consistent advocacy for the Rohingya Muslim community in Myanmar, acknowledging it as a testament to the country’s commitment to supporting oppressed Muslim communities globally.

In a world where international challenges require unified responses, Dr. Tangara and Dr. Al-Issa pledged to foster continued collaboration to advance the aspirations of the Muslim Ummah and promote shared values across cultural and religious boundaries.
