Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – In a significant move to bolster its maritime infrastructure, the Gambian government has signed a landmark port concession agreement with the Albayrak group of companies. The agreement, inked on Thursday, July 11th, at the Sir Dawda Jawara Conference Center, marks the beginning of an ambitious expansion project for the Banjul Port and the construction of a new 12-meter deep sea port in Sanyang.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport Works and Infrastructure in collaboration with the Gambia Ports Authority, this project aims to revolutionize port operations in the country. The concession is set to enhance efficiency in port management and services, providing quicker delivery of goods and significantly improving the operational turnaround time for businesses.
