Law enforcement agencies in The Gambia have recently made several significant drug-related arrests. Ousman Jawara, 42, from Tujereng Village, was apprehended by the Brikama DLEAG station on February 24th, 2024, with various illicit substances, including 28 parcels, 8 wraps, 3 smoking joints, and 22 tablets of codeine phosphate, coencealed in different items.
On February 22nd, 32-year-old Badou Secka, a resident of Latri Kunda Sabiji, was arrested by the Bundung DLEAG station with 5 pieces of suspected Skunk and 3 pieces of suspected cannabis resin, concealed in a transparent nylon bag.
Ebrima Gaye, 29, from Makumbaya Village, was arrested by the New Yundum DLEAG station on the same day with 2 bundles, 20 parcels, 8 wraps, and other quantities of suspected cannabis sativa, concealed in various materials.
Abdoulie Fatty, 43, from Tujereng Village, was arrested by the Sibanor DLEAG at Bullock Checkpoint on February 23rd with 3 bundles of suspected cannabis sativa, concealed in different items.
Chima Danso, 31, from Misira-ba mariama, was arrested by the Fatoto DLEAG station on February 25th with 22 wraps and some quantity of suspected cannabis sativa, concealed in white and brown paper.
Amadou Camara, 47, and Mamudou Kagbo, 45, both residents of Banjul, were arrested by the New Yundum DLEAG station on February 25th with various quantities of suspected kush, concealed in different materials.
Afred Tengbeh, 33, a Sierra Leonean residing in Manjai Kunda, was arrested by the Brusubi DLEAG on February 24th with 10 wraps of suspected cocaine and suspected kush, concealed in a transparent nylon bag, along with a significant amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Alie Kanu, 34, and Abass Kanu, 23, both Sierra Leoneans residing in New Jeshwang, were arrested by the Kanifing DLEAG station on February 23rd with 9 plastic bags of suspected kush, concealed in a transparent nylon bag.
Ansumana Tawrodou, 25, a resident of Bundung, was arrested by the Brusubi DLEAG station on February 26th with 3 plastic bags of suspected kush, concealed in three different yellow nylon bags.
All suspects are currently in custody as further investigations continue into these drug-related offenses.
