Gambia Navy’s SEADOG Patrol Halts Suspected Migrant Boat in Night Operation

Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Gambia Navy successfully intercepted a suspected migrant boat during a nighttime patrol on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The operation involved the Navy’s high-speed vessel, SEADOG, which was conducting routine security patrols when it tracked and apprehended a local wooden canoe believed to be carrying migrants. The exact spot of the interception is yet to be revealed.

The intercepted boat was subsequently escorted to Banjul, where it is undergoing further investigation. Officials have indicated that the vessel and its occupants will likely be handed over to relevant authorities for processing and any necessary legal action.
