The Gambia Police Force has launched a special task force, “Operation Fight Kush,” to combat drug-related crimes in the Greater Banjul Area. The operation, which began on February 27, has already led to significant arrests and seizures.
Since its inception, Operation Fight Kush has resulted in the arrest of over two dozen individuals in various locations within the KM and beyond. The arrests were made in connection with the possession of suspected controlled substances, including Tramadol pills and “Kush,” as well as suspected stolen smartphones, reportedly taken from a recent musical concert.
Individuals found in possession of suspected drugs have been promptly handed over to The Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) for further processing. The Gambia Police Force is working diligently to address drug-related crimes and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
The launch of Operation Fight Kush demonstrates the police force’s commitment to combating drug-related crimes and maintaining law and order in the Greater Banjul Area. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station to help in the fight against drug-related crimes.
