Slovakian club FK Pohronie has finalized the signing of Gambian midfielder Yusupha Kambi on a season-long loan from BST Galaxy FC. The 18-year-old, who plays as a box-to-box midfielder, has been a standout performer for BST Galaxy in the 2023/24 Gambia Football Federation League Division One, attracting attention from the Žiar nad Hronom-based club.

Kambi’s impressive displays for BST Galaxy prompted FK Pohronie to secure his services on loan, with an option to make the move permanent. He becomes the second BST Galaxy player to join Pohronie, following defender Musa Jatta, who recently completed a permanent transfer to FK Železiarne Podbrezová.

The completion of Kambi’s move came after all the necessary paperwork was finalized, including the release of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) on deadline day in Slovakia.

Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally, Chairman and Club President of BST Galaxy FC, praised Kambi’s abilities and expressed confidence in his success at the Slovakian club. Trawally commended the club’s recruitment department, led by Sports Director Pa Mulie Jassey and Chief Scout Alagie Deen, for identifying and bringing talented players like Kambi to the club.

“I will like to commend the recruitment department for their hard work done in bringing all these players to BST Galaxy and you can see their work speak for itself as more clubs and agents continue to express interest in our talented and brilliant players – from me and everyone in the Club, I want to wish Kambi the best in Pohronie and urge him to go become another good ambassador for the Club just like Musa Jatta has done,” Trawally said.

In response, Sports Director Pa Mulie Jassey expressed his satisfaction with Kambi’s move abroad and highlighted the club’s scouting efforts in identifying the young talent. ” Yusupha Kambi has been a professional since the first day he joined us and I’m sure he will continue the same professionalism in Slovakia,” Jassey said.

Kambi’s move to FK Pohronie represents a significant step in his career, as he aims to make a mark in European football and continue his development as a player.
