On January 1st, the German winter transfer window officially opens. However, speculations, conjecture, and reports regarding changes inside the Bundesliga are starting to gather steam. Bakery Jatta, a Gambian winger with HSV, is wanted by two Bundesliga clubs, according to the Hamburg media, including FC Augsburg.
Contract negotiations with the second division team have stalled, and the 25-year-old right Gambian winger’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Jatta can officially talk with other clubs and sign for the upcoming season without the permission of their current employers, starting on January 1st, much like other players whose contracts are about to expire. It’s rumored that the FCA would rather sign Jatta in January.
The German newspaper “Sport Bild” reports that Jatta and Hamburg have reached an agreement on terms for a contract extension that would see the international player from Gambia paid €400,000 a year plus bonuses. Meanwhile, the “Hamburger Abendblatt” has named one of the Bundesliga teams that has made offers that would compel players and teams to reevaluate a transfer.
According to the evening daily of the Hanseatic city state, FC Augsburg is allegedly pursuing Jatta in an effort to strengthen their right attacking side. The Bundesliga’s “other” team is currently unidentified.
