On Monday, a high-level delegation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) visited The Gambia to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance collaborative initiatives between the two countries.
The delegation was welcomed by the Vice President of The Gambia and other distinguished individuals, including Ghana’s Ambassador Emma Mensah, Deputy Head of Mission Audrey Naana Abayena, GIMPA Rector Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, and MDI Director General Fatou A. Barry.
During the meeting, Prof. Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, the Rector at GIMPA, expressed his sincere delight at the opportunity to meet with the Vice President and emphasized the purpose of their visit. The primary objective was to further fortify the existing bilateral ties between Ghana and The Gambia and explore additional avenues for collaboration.
Prof. Bonsu thanked the Vice President for his support in GIMPA’s Public Sector Management Training program, highlighting Gambia’s active participation and the Vice President’s role in identifying key talents.
Furthermore, Prof. Bonsu brought attention to the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), for which GIMPA serves as an implementing partner. The delegation sought the Vice President’s support in identifying mentors to guide individuals upon their return from training in Ghana.
In response, the Vice President assured his unwavering support for this initiative.
The meeting underscored the government of The Gambia’s steadfast commitment to collaborative efforts with strategic partners for the holistic development of the nation. It also served as a testament to the shared commitment towards fostering enduring relations between Ghana and The Gambia, contributing significantly to the advancement of both countries.
