Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) has issued a second call to all vehicle owners around the Denton Bridge to clear their vehicles from the highway by paying their Customs duty and taxes. This move comes as The Gambia prepares to host the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in a few days, with significant efforts being made to clear the roads within the Greater Banjul Area.
The space around Denton Bridge was initially provided to importers to use for a reasonable period of two or three days to clear their vehicles. However, it has been observed that the area is now being used as a car park, contrary to its intended purpose.
In a press release issued on the 27th of April 2024, the GRA emphasized the importance of vehicle owners complying with this directive.
Importers are given until Tuesday, the 30th of April 2024, to clear their vehicles. Failure to do so will result in necessary action being taken.
The GRA management has solicited the cooperation and understanding of all stakeholders in this matter. They stressed the need for timely compliance to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and logistics ahead of the OIC summit.
For further inquiries and clarification, vehicle owners are advised to contact the GRA directly.
