Inquest – Pregnant Gambian Women Coerced Guinea Pigs in Pfizer’s RSV Vaccine Trial

Pregnant women, including some Gambians, have been involved in clinical trials for Pfizer’s maternal respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine since 2019. Nevertheless, a study conducted by the British weekly peer-reviewed medical journal BMJ has shown that many of the trial participants were not informed by Pfizer about the nature of the vaccine they were vaccinated against, and that the trial of a comparable GSK vaccine was halted due to safety concerns regarding preterm birth.

NAWEC Meets Pre-qualified Eligible Power Producers Three Years After Launching an RFQ

NAWEC, The Gambia’s national utility company, held a pre-bid meeting on Monday to build “a state of the art 30MW dual fuel (HFO/GAS) facility in Kotu.” According to NAWEC officials, Tuesday’s pre-bid meeting allowed NAWEC’s management and its external consultants to interact with the pre-bidding qualified firms as well as walk them through the required final bidding processes.
