The revised Police Act is expected to provide clearer guidelines for police officers, improve accountability, and ultimately contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all citizens in The Gambia.
Supported by the GIZ Police Programme, the Gambia Police Force has engaged in extensive consultations with partners and stakeholders from both the government and the private sector to prepare a comprehensive bill for consideration by the National Assembly. The new bill is designed to enhance the rule of law and promote democratic policing principles.
