Gambiaj.com – (Banjul, the Gambia)- The man from East Africa was just three minutes away from blowing his final whistle but it took a Skipper Ousman Jallow header to break the deadlock in a well contested final between The Gambia U17 and Ghana U17 at the Independence Stadium. Skipper Ousman’s lone goal which the Ghanaians still deem as unfair validated the coronation of the ‘Baby Scorpions’ in Bakau as 2005 U17 AFCON winners for the very first time.

As winners, the side participated in the 2005 U17 World Cup in Peru. Jallow’s two goals in the tourney were not enough to guide The Gambia U17 to the second round of the competition. One of his goals came from the spot kick against Mighty Brazil which ended 3-1 in favor of the former.

His heroics at the U17 tournament lured UAE giants Al Ain. He joined the Al Zaeem from local side Wallidan FC. He scored 19 times in 47 outings for the biggest football club in the UAE. He was sent on a season long loan to Raja Casablanca in the Botola Pro for the 2006/07 season where he had an impressive goal stats with 11 goals in 19 league matches.
He connected with The Gambia U20 side for the 2007 Youth Championship in Canada where he racked up two goals, one came against the New Zealand which was the match winner for the ‘Young Scorpions’. In 2008, he secured a “big money” move to the Danish Superliga joining Brøndby from Al Ain. In 70 outings Jallow scored 14.

In 2011, his contract was not extended forcing him to depart the Danish club.

Turkish Süper Lig side Çaykur Rizespor came for his services. He spent two seasons with the outfit scoring 19 times in 47 games in all competition.

A move to Scandinavia came calling in 2015, Jallow joined giants HJK Helsinki with an impressive number of 6 goals in 20 games. He was reportedly invited for the Cameroon tie in the 2015 for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers but an injury ruled him out of the encounter.

In 2017, he won the Finnish Cup with HJK.

Ousman also had spells in Kazakhstan, Cyprus and Bangladesh.
