Gambiaj.com – (NEW DELHI, India) – The Republic of India and The Gambia have signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering digital transformation efforts in both countries. The agreement, signed on Thursday at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Complex in New Delhi, signifies a commitment to share successful digital solutions implemented on a large scale, facilitating mutual growth in the digital sector.
Mr. Shri. S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, and H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner and Ambassador of The Gambia, represented their respective nations at the signing ceremony. The MoU will facilitate ecosystem-centric digital initiatives through a series of capacity-building programs and collaborative activities designed to enhance digital infrastructure and knowledge sharing between India and The Gambia.
The partnership focuses on empowering programmers and technology professionals by building their capacity, as well as fostering an exchange of best practices and personnel. Both countries will support each other in advancing private sector engagements, which will further strengthen digital economies and facilitate tech-based innovations.
As part of the agreement, India and The Gambia have committed to exchanging information on current digital transformation trends, sharing relevant publications, and promoting institutional cooperation. The MoU also covers conducting feasibility studies and e-readiness assessments, aiming to foster a streamlined implementation of transformative digital solutions.
This partnership signals a strengthened relationship between New Delhi and Banjul, paving the way for enhanced digital infrastructure and sustainable digital growth in both nations.
