Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – In a recent development at the Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition, met with Maj. Gen. Mamat O. Cham, the Chief of Defense Staff of The Gambia. According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
During the meeting, both leaders engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration in the fight against terrorism. They also exchanged perspectives on global security challenges, underscoring the significance of collective efforts in addressing common threats.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen collaboration to advance peace and cooperation between the Islamic coalition and The Gambia.
Maj. Gen. Cham provided an overview of the Islamic coalition’s various initiatives, including those related to ideology, media, military, and counterterrorism. He commended the coalition’s endeavors in combating terrorism and highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for the coalition since its inception.
The meeting between Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi and Maj. Gen. Cham signifies a renewed commitment to combat terrorism and extremism, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing these global challenges.
