Wrexham’s Jacob Mendy has been handed the Red Dragons’ Goal of the Month award for a stupendous solo effort against Morecambe. It’s a beautiful rewards that adds to his maiden international appearance with the Scorpions of The Gambia. The Red Dragons Goal of the Month awards his incredible solo effort against Morecambe.

What happened?

With 57.5 percent of the total votes tallied, the Wrexham star was handed the award for his goal on November 25 in their 6-0 victory over The Shrimps. The award comes following his first-ever international appearance for the Gambia national team for November matches, making it a month to remember for him. The bigger picture

The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned side now sit second in the League Two standings after a brilliant November that saw them go 5-1 in all competitions. They’re sitting in pole-position for a promotion spot, just five points out of first, however, just one point separates the second-place Red Dragons from sixth-place Notts County.

This is the first time Mendy has won the Goal of the Month award for the Red Dragons, and it was just his second goal of the season that saw him claim it!

What next for Wrexham?

The Red Dragons are back in action Tuesday against Burton in the EFL Trophy. That’s followed by a League Two match against Forest Green on Saturday, as they look to close-in on first place Stockport.
