Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) –The Jollof Football Bantaba October Team of the Month is lined up in a dynamic 3-2-3-2 formation, showcasing the best-performing Gambian players worldwide in October. 

Goalkeeper

In goal, Baboucarr Gaye (Shekendija) keeps his place for the fourth consecutive month, highlighting why he is the undisputed Scorpion No. 1.  He made the most saves in the UEFA Conference League Round 1 and followed it up with his first-ever clean sheet in a UEFA competition proper during Round 2. Despite a difficult outing for the Scorpions against Gabon, where he conceded four to Aubameyang, he was undeniably the best Gambian goalkeeper throughout the month.

Defence

The back three features Alagie Saine (AC Horsens), Ibou Touray (Bradford City), and Noah Sonko Sundberg (Aris Thessaloniki). Saine delivered another solid month in defense, featuring in five matches, scoring twice for his club, and helping secure two clean sheets. Ibou Touray enjoyed an unbeaten run across his five appearances, contributing his first assist of the season and adding a clean sheet to his name. Noah Sonko also completed an unbeaten month in his three outings, rounding off his performances by scoring his first goal for his club.

Central Midfield

In central midfield, Muhammed Hydara (FK Pohronie) and Pa Ousman Gai (Manila Diggers) formed a dominant duo. Hydara delivered a brilliant run of form, scoring in three consecutive games and guiding his team to three wins and a draw. Gai was equally influential, playing a key role in his side’s progression to the AFC Challenge League quarterfinals. He finished the group stages as one of the standout performers, scoring three goals plus an assist in October across all competitions.

Attacking Midfield

The attacking midfield trio of Baboucarr Touray (Manila Diggers), Abdoulie Manneh (Mjallby AIF), and Adama Sidibeh (St. Johnstone) combined for an impressive sixteen goal involvements in October.Touray delivered an exceptional month, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just four matches, highlighted by a brilliant hat trick in the league.

Manneh, crowned the Jollof Football Bantaba Player of the Month, enjoyed a perfect month with four wins from four games. He helped Mjällby clinch their historic first Allsvenskan title.

He became the first Gambian to score a hat trick for the senior scorpions in a competitive match, achieving the feat in the Scorpions’ 7–0 win over Seychelles. Sidibeh, meanwhile, delivered decisive performances during the international break, scoring braces against both Gabon and Seychelles, while also contributing for his club in Scotland.

Striker

Up front, Mustapha Jah (Floriana) and Alasana Jatta (Notts County) spearhead the attack. Jah continued his consistent form with three goals in three matches, helping his side to two victories as he climbed to second place in the Maltese scoring charts. Jatta, fully back to his best, scored four goals in five games, including a commanding brace in a 2–0 win over Cambridge, though he will be disappointed to have missed out on national team selection.

Notable Mentions

Players who narrowly missed out on the Team of the Month include Modou Lamin Marong, Musa Barrow, and Noah Ganaus, all of whom delivered commendable performances throughout October.
