On Saturday, 24th February, Mr. Mamour M Mbenga, popularly known as Kifa Barham, a renowned Journalist, Sports Development Manager, and CEO of Africa Sports Agency (ASA), visited the Executive Members of the Banjul Sports Committee (BSC) to discuss sports development programs and challenges faced by stakeholders in the industry.
During the meeting, Kifa Barham, a sports enthusiast and community youth leader, proposed partnership programs focused on capacity building training through his regional partners at the National Sports College in Winneba, Ghana. The Committee warmly welcomed this concept, recognizing the potential for collaboration to enhance sports development in the Capital City.
The meeting was attended by Dodou Janko, Secretary General of BSC; Pa Malick Joof, second Vice President of the committee; and Ya Fatou Lowe, a female representative. Pa Malick Joof expressed optimism about the development and partnership programs, emphasizing the Committee’s commitment to promoting sports in Banjul.
Mr. Mbenga highlighted his role as the official Brand Ambassador of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency under the Ministry of Interior, emphasizing the importance of addressing youth matters, including drug abuse and crimes, through sports. He shared his educational background, having studied Football Intermediary and Sports Agent, Football Business Management, and HR at Valley View University in Ghana. Additionally, he recently completed courses on Sports Governance and Leadership at the National Sports College in Winneba, Ghana.
The engagement between Mr. Mbenga and the BSC signifies a promising step towards enhancing sports development and addressing societal challenges through strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
