A new association, the Kambeng Kafo Sisters, has emerged in Busumbala, dedicated to promoting gender equality and economic empowerment among women in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This non-political group engages in various activities, including tailoring, soap making, food processing, and tie and dye, with the goal of fostering unity, cooperation, and community development.
The association’s official registration with the AG-Chambers signifies its commitment to mutual support and collective progress. Members have been actively organizing fundraisers, charity works, and community programs to assist the needy, demonstrating their dedication to personal growth and societal development. Musa Nyockeh, a respected community leader, has been embraced as a father figure by the association, symbolizing the community’s support. Nyockeh’s donation of fifteen chairs for the association’s meetings further demonstrates the community’s backing and belief in the group’s objectives.
Advisor Muhammed Sanneh’s guidance emphasizes the importance of unity, commitment, and openness to criticism in achieving meaningful outcomes. He encouraged members to strengthen relationships and adhere strictly to their constitution, ensuring the association’s longevity and effectiveness. Ndey Saine, the association’s president, expressed profound gratitude towards Nyockeh for his generous support, reaffirming the group’s dedication to their goals and the broader vision of empowering women in business.
The formation of the Kambeng Kafo Sisters Association comes at a crucial time when women entrepreneurs face challenges such as access to capital and market opportunities. Initiatives like women’s entrepreneurship programs and SheTrades MENA Hub demonstrate a growing commitment to supporting women-led businesses, providing training, resources, and access to new markets.
As the Kambeng Kafo Sisters Association embarks on its journey, it stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment for women entrepreneurs in Busumbala and beyond. Their efforts not only aim to improve their lives but also to contribute positively to national development, setting a powerful example for future generations.
