Gambiaj.com – (KANIFING) – The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to infrastructural development by signing a monumental contract agreement for its Road Network Project with Longjian Roads and Bridges Company. This project, fully funded by local taxes, marks a milestone in KMC’s efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure within the municipality.
Valued at D300 million, the road network project aims to construct 15.4 kilometers of tar roads and 5.9 kilometers of drains across the Kanifing Municipality. Scheduled to commence in May 2024 , the three-year project will encompass the construction of 11 strategic roads, 2 bridges, and the entire drain network of Bakau Town.
The Kanifing Municipal Council Road Project Network represents a transformative initiative aimed at improving transportation infrastructure and fostering socio-economic development within the community. With roads serving as vital arteries for economic activity and social connectivity, this project holds immense significance in facilitating trade, enhancing accessibility, and elevating the overall quality of life for residents.
