Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – The volunteer medical team of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully removed an 11-kilogram tumor from a 17-year-old female patient from the Gambia in a nearly four-hour operation at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital.
Thanks to the team’s quick action and expertise, the surgery was a success, and the young patient is now recovering well under their care. This life-saving intervention underscores the importance of humanitarian aid and medical assistance in providing critical care to those in need worldwide.
The First Lady of The Gambia, Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, expressed her gratitude to the KSrelief medical team for their professional competence.
The operation was part of a medical project involving the removal of tumors in Banjul, with 10 Saudi physicians of various specialties participating.
So far, the team has performed tens of surgeries of varying complexity, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need and demonstrating the positive outcomes of humanitarian aid efforts.
This project is part of the voluntary medical projects conducted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to assist patients in need worldwide.
