Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – The Gambia Ferry Services has announced that the Kunta Kinteh ferry will be temporarily withdrawn from service from Sunday through Tuesday to undergo routine maintenance, with normal operations expected to resume on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Public Relations Officer, the temporary suspension is part of management’s regular maintenance policy designed to ensure safety, hygiene, and service reliability.
During the three-day period, the ferry will undergo comprehensive checks and a full repainting.
While the Kunta Kinteh ferry is out of service, the Kanilai ferry will remain fully operational to continue serving passengers and vehicles crossing between Banjul and Barra.
“The management sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation,” the statement concluded.
