Ambassador Bader Al-Tanaib, Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, stated on Sunday that Kuwait is eager to establish and facilitate deeper cooperation with African countries, including The Gambia, in all critical fields.

Ambassador Al-Tanaib told Kuweit News Agency (KUNA) that Kuwait is eager to play a role on the international stage in elucidating answers to issues that endanger international peace and security.

Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs stated that he recently discussed these concerns with African authorities while attending the 9th Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Senegal. He stated that the topics of discussion in Dakar over the two days included cyber security and digital challenges, ways to operate the African Standby Force (ASF), and the contributions of civil society to its resilience in confronting greed in natural resource management on the continent.

Al-Tanaib stated that he had visited Senegal, Cape Verde, and Gambia, where he delivered written words of mutual concern on behalf of Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The role of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in financing development projects in African countries, the role of Kuwaiti charitable societies in providing humanitarian aid, and the implementation of signed agreements were also discussed.
