Libya Africa Investment Portfolio Opens Prime Atlantic Hotel in Banjul

Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL) – The Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP) recently inaugurated its Prime Atlantic Hotel in Banjul, the capital of The Gambia, following the completion of the initial phase of its maintenance, as reported by LAIP’s Media Department to Libya Herald.

LAIP, established during the Qaddafi era, serves as Libya’s sovereign investment fund dedicated to African investments and is the proprietor and operator of the Prime Atlantic Hotel.

The opening ceremony was presided over by LAIP’s Chairman, Mustafa Abu Funas, alongside Emin Çakmak, Chairman of the Union of Turkish Companies Investing in Africa, and Saruhan, Chairman of the Turkish Arsi Company. They were joined by Musa Al-Koni, a member of the Presidential Council, Fatah.

Allah Al-Zani, the Tripoli-based Minister of Youth and the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to Africa, as well as other dignitaries including the Libyan Ambassador to The Gambia and the Libyan representative to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, among others from the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives from The Gambia included the Ministers of Tourism, Economy, Investment, and Youth, the Mayor of Banjul Municipality, and the Chairman of the Gambian Tourism Board.

The inauguration coincided with the hotel hosting delegations attending the 15th Islamic Summit Conference organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in The Gambia from May 4 to 5, themed ‘‘Promoting Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development’’.
