Gambiaj.com – Dakar – In a scathing interview on Dakar’s private radio station RFM, Aliou Sall, the brother-in-law of Senegal’s former first lady, Marième Faye Sall, and ex-mayor of Guédiawaye, openly criticized his brother-in-law, Mansour Faye, revealing deep rifts within the family of former President Macky Sall.

“Mansour Faye and I have almost no relationship. We are not friends. I never visited him, and he never came to my house,” Aliou Sall declared. He further alleged that Mansour Faye had sought favors from him during his tenure at the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations by sending young women for communications contracts, which Aliou Sall refused due to their inappropriate attire.

Aliou Sall accused Mansour Faye of arrogance and criticized his handling of public offices, which he claimed had tarnished President Macky Sall’s career. He was particularly incensed by recent accusations from Mansour Faye, implying that Aliou Sall had betrayed his brother. “Mansour spoke in Wolof, but he almost called me a traitor,” Aliou Sall said. “Normally, I shouldn’t even respond to Mansour Faye, but it’s like a donkey braying.”

The ex-mayor also revealed strained relations with the former first lady, stating, “Marième Faye Sall is not a friend. I just consider her my big brother’s wife, and that’s it!” He emphasized that nothing connected him to Mansour Faye beyond family ties.

Aliou Sall expressed support for former Prime Minister Amadou Ba, whom he considered the most suitable candidate in the last presidential election. He criticized the ruling party for undermining Ba’s candidacy, which led to a victory for the radical opposition. Reflecting on the turbulent election period, he acknowledged the difficult decisions made by his brother, Macky Sall, to maintain order, despite disagreeing with some actions from a democratic standpoint.

Aliou Sall’s candid remarks have brought to light the significant tensions within the Sall family, exposing a personal and political rift that continues to influence Senegalese politics.
