Gorgui Sowe’s case was today called at the High court before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh. Gorgui is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to his wife and has appeared in the High Court.
He is charged in relation with provision of the law on acts of intent that cause grievous harm. The accused is alleged to have seriously wounded his wife leaving her with cuts on her hands and legs. He was armed with a cutlass during the grievous assault on Amie Sowe, his wife.
State attorney Fatoumatta Drammeh told the court, at the case’s call, that the prosecution is still waiting on the police to forward the file to the Attorney General’s Office. She asked for the case to be postponed and clarified that the inquiry is still ongoing.
The request was granted by Justice Jaiteh, who also set the next hearing date for the state to file the bill of indictment at 11:30 on December 12, 2023.
The case was initiated on November 15, 2023, in Jalanba Kombo Central, West Coast Region, where Sowe unlawfully assaulted Amie Sowe with a cutlass, intending to cause malice, disfigurement, or disability.
