The Gambia’s Minister of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure, Ebrima Sillah, is in Qatar to discuss Qatari-Gambian relations in the areas of transportation, harbors, and civil aviation and ways to further enhance them.
On Tuesday, Ebrima Sillah had a one-on-one encounter with his Qatari Minister of Transport, H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti.
The Gambia government has recently doubled up on initiatives to attract Qatari businessmen and investors in The Gambia.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, and Employment’s Permanent Secretary, Lamin Dampha, led a delegation from the Republic of Gambia that was hosted by the Qatar Chamber earlier in March.”
The meeting focused on improving economic and commercial cooperation and bolstering private sector ties.
The Qatar Chamber has signed agreements with the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and another MoU to establish a joint business council. Dampha called on Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Gambia, a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and to enhance trade exchange with Qatar and supply Gambian products.
