Morocco Showcases CAN 2025 Readiness as Fouzi Lekjaa Meets African Ambassadors in Rabat

Gambiaj.com – (RABAT, Morocco) – The Complexe Mohammed VI de Football on Tuesday hosted a high-level meeting between Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and head of the CAN 2025 Local Organizing Committee, and African ambassadors accredited to Rabat, as Morocco intensifies preparations for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

During the briefing, Lekjaa presented a detailed update on the progress of infrastructure, logistics, and organizational arrangements for the tournament.

He said Morocco is approaching CAN 2025 with a comprehensive vision aligned with the High Directives of King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the country’s deep African identity and its commitment to both bilateral cooperation and collective continental progress.

Lekjaa stressed that the success of the 2025 edition would be “a victory not only for Morocco but for the entire African continent,” highlighting the Kingdom’s intention to deliver a tournament that sets new standards for African sporting events.

The diplomats expressed strong satisfaction with the level of preparedness, praising the coherence and synergy between Moroccan institutions involved in organizing the competition. They noted that the Kingdom’s approach provides solid guarantees for a successful tournament.

As part of efforts to enhance coordination, Lekjaa announced the establishment of a dedicated communication and monitoring unit linking the Local Organizing Committee with African diplomatic missions. The unit will streamline administrative procedures, support teams’ travel and accommodation needs, and oversee related logistical matters.

Participants also commended the rapid progress and quality of Morocco’s sports infrastructure, as well as the swift mobilization of the relevant authorities.

These elements, they said, demonstrate that Morocco is on track to host an exceptional edition of the Africa Cup of Nations that reflects a renewed continental vision for major sporting events.

Closing the meeting, Lekjaa reaffirmed that CAN 2025 is a shared African event and underscored Morocco’s full commitment to delivering a tournament that meets the continent’s ambitions and aligns with the directives of King Mohammed VI.
