Gambiaj.com – (Banjul, The Gambia) – The National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA) has issued a public alert, strongly warning the general public against enrolling in or engaging with seven institutions operating Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs without proper registration or accreditation.

In a press release, NAQAA identified seven entities as operating illegally and in violation of the NAQAA Act, 2021. These include Five Star Architects – Sukuta, Gomindz Academy – Kairaba Avenue, Vital Assure – Busumbala, West Coast Region, Rising Stars Academy – Green House, West Coast Region, Kabboumb Academy – Coastal Road, West Coast Region, Impact Medical Institute & Diagnostics – New Road, Manjai Kunda, Kanifing Municipality, and Saidykhan’s Decoration and Design Skills Academy – Brikama.

NAQAA explicitly stated that these institutions are not recognized by the Authority and their operations are unlawful.

The public is advised against any form of engagement or enrollment in programmes offered by these entities.

The Authority underscored the significant risks associated with enrolling in such unaccredited institutions, stating that “any qualifications or certificates issued by these unaccredited institutions will not be recognized either in The Gambia or internationally.”

This lack of recognition could lead to substantial academic and financial losses for students.

Furthermore, NAQAA issued a stern warning to all unregistered and unaccredited institutions, demanding an immediate cessation of all operations and a halt to offering any training or education until they have regularized their status in accordance with the NAQAA Act, 2021.

The press release also cautioned individuals and organizations against collaborating with these non-compliant institutions, emphasizing that doing so would be “at their own risk.” NAQAA confirmed its intent to report all violations to relevant law enforcement authorities and pursue legal action against any person or body found to be in breach of the law.

Reiterating its commitment to upholding quality, integrity, and credibility within The Gambia’s education and training sector, NAQAA urged the public to verify the registration and accreditation status of any institution directly with the Authority before committing financially or enrolling in programs.

For further information or verification, the public is encouraged to contact NAQAA through its official communication channels.
