Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, the Gambia) – The Police Regional Command, bolstered by units from the SIS, GID, DLEAG, GFRS, and accompanied by the GPF Press Team, conducted extensive night patrols to reinforce peace and security in the West Coast Region. These coordinated efforts are part of an ongoing strategy to deter criminal activities and assure public safety.
Before the patrols commenced, CP Famara Jallow, the Regional Police Commissioner, briefed the assembled officers on their mission. “Tonight, our task is clear: to ensure the safety and security of our communities through vigilant enforcement of the law,” he stated. The briefing set a determined tone for the night’s operations, emphasizing the critical role of each officer in maintaining order.
Throughout the night, the combined forces arrested more than a dozen individuals on charges ranging from possession of weapons and suspected narcotics to various motor traffic offenses. All suspects, along with the recovered property, were transported to the police base for further investigation. This proactive approach demonstrates the Regional Police Command’s commitment to curbing crime and enhancing community safety.
The Police Regional Command in the West Coast region says it remains steadfast in its dedication to law enforcement and public safety. They urge citizens to actively participate in these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities. “Community support is vital to our mission,” CP Jallow emphasized. “Together, we can create and sustain a secure and peaceful environment for all.”
These night patrols represent a critical component of the broader strategy to safeguard the region, highlighting the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the community. As the Police Regional Command continues its vigilance, the collective efforts of officers and citizens alike will be instrumental in fostering a safe and secure West Coast Region.
