Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Banjul police have intercepted a BMW vehicle linked to an armed robbery that occurred in the capital on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint—its exact location withheld due to ongoing investigations—raising hopes of a breakthrough in the search for the suspects.
Security authorities confirmed to Gambian online news ”LamToro News” that the individual driving the vehicle at the time of the interception was not among the armed robbers captured on CCTV footage during the crime.
However, he has been arrested and is currently being questioned to assist in tracking down the actual suspects.
“They are currently with him and will eventually get the required details and information to lead them to the suspects,” a security official disclosed.
Law enforcement agencies are intensifying their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, and updates will follow as soon as new developments emerge.
