Gambiaj.com – (Banjul, The Gambia) – The Gambia Police Force has launched an investigation into an alleged armed robbery that took place at ElHella shop on Hegan Street, Banjul, on the morning of February 8, 2025.
According to preliminary reports, two suspects arrived at the shop at approximately 9:08 AM in an ash-colored BMW without a number plate. One of the suspects was masked, while the other had no face covering.
CCTV footage from the scene reportedly shows the two men entering the shop, brandishing a pistol, and threatening those inside before making away with D1,245,000 and 1,650,000 CFA. They fled in the same vehicle.
Police are actively investigating the incident and have urged the public to assist in identifying the suspects and the vehicle. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or call 9968885.
Authorities have assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
