Gambiaj.com – (BANJUL, The Gambia) – Police in The Gambia have launched an investigation into an alleged shooting incident reported at Envy Night Club in Fajara on Monday, January 19, 2026.

According to a statement from the Gambia Police Force, officers from the Kairaba Police Station responded promptly to the report and secured the scene upon arrival.

One individual sustained injuries during the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Kanifing General Hospital. The victim’s condition was not immediately disclosed.

Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify those responsible. No arrests have been announced so far.

“The Gambia Police Force assures the general public that the matter is being thoroughly investigated, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety,” the statement said.

Authorities added that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
